How to be Saved

Let’s consider the most well-known verse in the Bible,

John 3:16:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

We are told “For God so loved the world.” God created you. God made you to be totally unique from everyone else in the world. God wants to show His incredible love to you, a love which the Bible says “passes knowledge.” God has a special plan and a great purpose for your life.

“He gave His only begotten Son.” God reveals Himself in three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came to the earth 2000 years ago, and proved He was God by doing things only God can do. Jesus healed every kind of sickness, brought dead people back to life, forgave sins, created food, walked on water, and even changed the weather with His word. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life, but He died a horrible, bloody death on the cross. Why was that necessary? Jesus said he “laid down” His life for us. Jesus took the punishment we deserve for our sins. Jesus’ resurrection was proof that God the Father was satisfied with Jesus’ sacrifice of His life for us.

“That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish.” That’s it! It’s not good works, baptism, joining a church, or anything else that connects you with God and saves your soul. Just believe!

“But have everlasting life.” Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that He rose from the dead? If so, just ask Him to save you, and He will give you total forgiveness of sins and everlasting life in heaven! Please pray this prayer:

“Heavenly Father, I have sinned against You. I deserve death and hell. But God, I know that You sent Jesus to shed His blood and die for me. Please save me. Forgive all my sins, and let Jesus come into my heart. Thank you, God, for your gift of salvation  and everlasting life! Thank you for giving me a new life! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
